Greeting from our President

〈Corporate Motto〉
“We reveal true inventions the even inventors don’t realize.”

The above statement is our motto, “True and Clear”.
I was developing programs as a software engineer before I became a patent attorney, and met with patent attorneys to file patent applications several times. I prepared data, including flow charts to explain the embodiments and inventions along with the information. However, I often came up with the thought, “This isn’t really my true invention.” because I couldn’t fully explain my “true invention” which was hidden in my subconscious. Although the embodiment is specified, I couldn’t explain my true invention sufficiently. I imagine that those people who work at intellectual property departments, and not only just engineers have had such experiences.

We dig deep into inventions to create documents for patent applications based on our corporate motto above. And when our client takes the documents which we created, they feel like “Oh, this is it. This is the invention we wanted to express. This is the invention we wanted”. Every day, we always try to work with this image. We aim to work so that the client will say “We are glad we asked “Shinmei”.
We claim “Shinmei (True and Clear)” with our thoughts that “We reveal the “True” inventions to make them “Clear”.

Our thoughts on investing in the “Century” of “Shinmei Century”.

Relationships with and intellectual property business, especially with patent applications, will last a long time for the client. Most of our relationships as a patent office are with those people in the intellectual property departments of corporations. These intellectual property departments in the corporations are organized, and those cases which are pending or continuing are securely managed and utilized to carry over to new people, even when the department head or the person in charge changes. So, we should have an organization that will respond to their system. This is customer-oriented service. This is what we arrived at.

Therefore, our organization was incorporated as “Patent Firm Shinmei Century” in July, 2006 to create a system to manage each of the cases under our responsibility, for a long time, as long as our clients do. We invested our thoughts on the term “Century” to create an organization where this system will continue for 100 years and to create a system where our clients will be satisfied with our service with every generation, as a 100 years of business go over multiple generations.

Lastly, what our work involves.

Our direct work is to receive requests for patent applications, etc., to create patent specifications and to obtain the patent right our clients want. However, the reason why our clients request us for patent applications, etc. is to increase their own performance and to develop and grow their companies. That is why they request us for patent applications, etc., as a means to achieve those purposes. We recognize this. Therefore, when we accept a new case, we may suggest a better policy after studying the subject from various angles, and may not necessarily just devote ourselves to the patent application, but to consider the performance increase, development and growth of the client. In order to achieve this, we have a good knowledge of not only patents, but of design, trademark and patent searches, and we have created a total support system for intellectual property. We think of our business as seeking performance increases, development and growth of the client’s business through the intellectual property business.
